Whitney Houston Estate – Landlord Entertainment:
Landlord Entertainment was founded in Fort Lee, NJ in 1999. Formed by Whitney Houston, John Houston, Michael Houston, and Zaki Abdul, the upstart company was conceived to develop and establish a roster of R&B/ Hip-Hop artists.
As Whitney Houston’s career demands and trajectory took her in another direction, the company did not hold up.
Over the years, the remaining principals pursued other ventures with the hope of re-opening the business at a later date.
Today, Landlord Entertainment is back in business and the first project being developed is a tribute album to the life of Whitney Houston, and will feature a previously unreleased song by the legend, as well as other mainstream artists.
Work highlights include:
- Branding, Content, Development, Product Marketing & PR – Created branding concept and PR strategy campaigns for a compilation tribute album in line with business objectives.
- TV Broadcast Projects & Events – Other projects include a TV pilot featuring the surviving members of the Houston family carrying on Whitney’s musical legacy; and a compilation album and concert for the City of Newark (NJ), a place that is close to the Houston’s hearts. Funds raised will help those affected by gun violence in the City. The album will feature up-and-coming artists from the Houston clan and beyond.

The late Bert Padell was known as “the accountant to the stars” and was also an investor, business manager, and career planner.
Bert had developed great expertise in many areas of the entertainment industry. He provided his expertise to all of his clients by way of advising them on personal and business decisions and working with clients’ managers and attorneys.
Bert was a major player in the entertainment industry. His roster included over 1,000 clients, from the likes of Russell Simmons, Leyor Cohen (Def Jam-Universal), Madonna, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Oprah, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Eric B. and Rakim, Run DMC, De La Soul, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Pink Floyd, Joe DiMaggio, Foxxy Brown, Biggie Smalls, Lou Panella, Alice Cooper, Blondie, Talking Heads, Lorraine Bracco, Robert DeNiro, Vera Wang, Queens of the Stone Age, to Carl Banks, and many more.
